New Title

One of the earliest railroad lines built to move Utah's minerals was the American Fork RR. Build as a narrow gauge line, it ran from Deer Creek, just north of the present day Tibble Fork Reservior, following the American Fork River down to American Fork. It was completed in 1873. The American Fork RR was short lived. By 1878 the mines had dried up and the line was abandoned. The rails pulled for salvage. There are still signs of the old roadbed today. American Fork is located in Utah County north of Provo.
